Yesterday I was filling up my work truck with gasoline and had to go in to get my receipt. Upon walking in I encountered two men, one of which asked me if I spoke any Spanish. I replied, "Un poquito." and held my index finger near my thumb to prove my point.
He replied, "Can you tell this man I can't sell him alcohol because he's drunk?"
"Sure." I turned and faced the other guy, eyes red, the effects of over-excessive 4th of July partying. I had no idea how to say what I needed to say, but I opened my mouth and out came... "El no puede vender a ti porque tu eres boracho."
He muttered something in Spanish I couldn't understand, that sounded like excuses, then mistaking my silence for resolve rather than confusion said, "Porque estoy boracho?"
"Si." I said. To that he gave me high five and exited the gas station.
It was definitely a fun experience I had getting gas yesterday morning. Now I guess I should go to the Library and pick up some Spanish CDs. Adios.

Snowy the Frostman
Yesterday it snowed in Austin Texas and the snowed stuck! Last time that happened was in 2004 and I was on my mission in California at the time, so I missed it! So yesterday was my first time really experiencing snow! So Lorena went out and played around in it for a while, and I learned three things.
1. Snow tastes suspiciously like ice, but it leaves a bad taste in your mouth
2. Snowballs are actually a lot denser than they look in the cartoons
3. Slopes with snow on them can be quite slippery.
We also built my first-ever snowman "Snowy the Frostman". It was a really awesome day yesterday, and its a good thing i haven't found a job yet otherwise I'd have quit to play in the snow. Anyways I think I now have enough experience with snow and ice to single-handedly beat the Canadian olympic hockey team... in a snowball fight... and at hockey.

Scary stuff in the drawer
The other day I was cleaning the apartment, and when I got to the bathroom I realized I had never seen what was in my wife's drawers (she owns ever drawer in the apartment except 2). With a pounding heart I began opening them and inside were things I had never seen in my life. I have no idea what any of that stuff is for. The only thing I can figure is she is a mad scientist and she does experiments on human beings. Like, seriously, I feel like I'm in a horror film now. So if anyone reads this- CALL THE POLICE!! I don't even want to know what's in the drawers in the kitchen, so I'm never going in there again.
